Noor's life on the path to Jannah

About Noor

I converted to Islam almost three years ago, alhumdulillah, and am still crawling on my hands and knees like a newborn baby in this wonderful religion–perhaps I always will. Live in New Jersey but long for California. I have the best husband in the world. I struggle with an eating disorder, bipolar disorder, and depression, and take a cocktail of medication each day. Don’t suffer fools gladly but need to learn less selfishness and more kindness. Fascinated by those little round colorful things called beads and all the cool things you can do with them. Love cooking, Glow by J. Lo (and it’s been discontinued–sob!) travel, and all things girly. I strive every day to keep a balance between the dunya and the deen and most days end up failing miserably. I HEART my hijab and collect tons of them.  I still struggle with the haram lures of this world like Blazing Saddles and Eminem. In the end, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Allah SWT is my LORD and that there are no equals or partners to Him….and in the end, I know (insha-Allah) that everything else will gently fall into place.

  1. Welcome – to the deen and the blog world – sister! I look forward to reading more from you inshaa Allaah. May Allaah continue to guide us all, ameen.

  2. Eminem? LOL!

  3. Welcome to the Muslimah blogosphere! Eminem indeed lol 😀

  4. mashallah; something about the way you “speak” indicates you’re a really nice person! May Allah SWT make your reversion easy for you. Re your illnesses; have you heard of the benefits of black seed oil? x

Thank you for visiting my blog. So far I’m enjoying your writings, and it is always nice to have a fresh outlook from another sister. 🙂 May Allah S.W.T make it easy for us to live the life, here and the hereafter. If you ever need someone to give you that extra boost of positivity, feel free to drop me an e-mail. ^^ And welcome to the blogging realm sis~!

  7. Noor, nice to meet you, truly. InshAllah I’ll keep hearing from you if not through my blog then in the spirit of your words, the ones I read on your blog.

    Best salams,

  8. I used to live in NJ. The last place I lived in was in Passaic. Years ago I lived in Middlesex County. First place I lived in NJ was Irvington. Culture shock from living in Kansas! The only thing I missed about NJ when I came to Michigan was the shopping. I didn’t really like living there!

I also struggle with depression. Meds make me feel better, but I wonder if I’ll have to take them forever, sigh.

    Have a great week!

  9. As-Salamu Alykum, I,m new sister here from Egypt, my name is Shahirah, i just read your blog, ma shaa ALlah sister, you are great keeping up all of that for the sake of Allah, the thing is we either become real Muslims, or die striving. this is the reality i reached recently. I love your phrase “Dont suffer fools gladly but need to learn less seflishness and more kindness”. sometimes, i try as much as I can to be kind more to people, but because of the stress it is REally HARD. May Allah help us all, I,M here anytime for you, we should support one another :)because we are one body if one organ of this body felt sick, the whole body gets affected. May Allah grant you success in this life and in there Hereafter.
